I've been feeling pretty nostalgic lately. Like warm candles and cider and airy music should be a part of my everyday {they might be}. Life has been a bit nuts recently as i'm transitioning my business to focus on some more specific things. Exciting times but also that means seeking paid gigs are on hold until that is all sorted. Being a grown up is gross. Hence the nostalgia of easier days I suppose.. so here you go. A little bit of me on this fall-spring Brooklyn-can't-make-up-it's-mind kind of day.

The Burg

Happy Thursday! Today feels like Friday. The weather was lovely and I spent it wandering around with a good friend in Williamsburg eating veggie sandwiches {with coffee, of course} at the cutest little hidden gem called House of Small Wonder and then we hit up Space Ninety Eight. Which is some brilliant person's plan of an Urban Outfitters mash up in a warehouse style venue. It is completely catered to the local Williamsburg lover and the hipster in all of us. It features local Brooklyn designers on the first floor, an Adidas floor on the bottom, a very cleverly displayed product area where you can try out things like sea salt hair spray and lightly tinted animal safe lip balm, and also a rooftop restaurant. Needless to say it is becoming one of my favorite places to hang out at when we are in the Burg.

Nook

One of the goals I made for myself this year was to make a usable & creative work space. Since I started working for myself full time last Fall I realized I needed a space at home to get things done that isn't the kitchen table. My space needs to be a place I feel inspired to be in for a long period of time because I work from home unless I am with clients or viewing a new collection. The main practical goals for my space were that it needs to be organized and cute! When my space isn't that way I find myself sneaking off to a coffee shop or visiting Michael at work, which is lovely but not very productive. Last year we found the perfect cabinet {I like to call it my nook} on the street in our neighborhood. It's been storing all of my crafty things for a year and I finally decided to turn it into a functional space as well. Cue my Pinterest for ideas, I have a whole board! Here are are a few of my favorite ideas. I look forward to sharing my complete project soon! 

Im an Urban Outfitter

As you may know I work with a lot of young artists and celebrities, which means I get the honor of viewing and trying out new urban designs on my clients for shoots and press tours. It's one of my favorite parts of the job because it gives me a creative platform to try out new styles & give new designers a go.

One of my goals for this year is to work with more hip-hop inspired looks & clients, hello Justin Bieber! Which is why I am so excited to pull looks from these amazing collections by Altaf Maaneshia & Control Sector that I saw this past February during NYFW. I particularly loved the first look and the beanie look. {Naturally, the mister wants that jacket}. I love the aesthetic of both designers and their eclectic styling. You can also checkout more of the designs here. Enjoy!

NYFW Wrap Up

As a stylist I get invited to see the new collections of designers every season, its a super fun and crazy busy week seeing all that is out there but I love being around all the people of the industry and seeing what creativity the new season brings. It is also great because I get to see whats out there to potentially use for dressing my clients or for photo shoots. Here is a quick recap of this past NYFW: I went. I saw. I conquered.
